Though she won’t have the same directly tangible benefits as Ash’s Liberator or Sophia’s Sage, the damage is still sufficient enough that Void Knight is Neon’s best choice, but arguably so. If you complete the side quest Ebon Memories: The Truthseeker, you’ll be able to equip Neon with the Void Knight job. The Knight is the better option until you can unlock the Void Knight later in the game. As tempting as it is to place her as a Red Mage alongside Sophia, Red Mage is one of her worse options, as she lacks the skills and utility to complement Sophia’s Sage Job. Neon fills very specific niches in your party, flexing between the Knight, Red Mage, and Paladin once you move beyond her starting Swordfighter job. It’s a good habit to use Resonance as often as you can so you can take advantage of Mighty Guard, just make sure you’re near him so you reap the benefits. Liberator’s Mighty Guard is a powerful ability that will both slowly regenerate your HP and decrease your damage taken, as long as you stay near Ash. Well into the late game, Ash will earn the Liberator job once you complete the side quest Coral Memories: The Avenger. Pugilist and Monk are alright on their own but should be passed over in favor of Berserker, until you can realize Ash’s true potential with the Liberator job. In the early game, consider using the Berserker job to help increase your party’s damage, but be sure to heal him as potions don’t work once he goes Berserk. Because of this, he works very well filling the tank role, particularly once he acquires his final job. If you're good at applying Status Ailments, Jed compliments this once you further level his Ninja, increasing their duration.Īsh’s jobs are also all physical, demanding he get up close and personal to every enemy you come across. This will let him use Ninjutsu at the cost of Ninjutsu of tools, including elemental attacks that function the same as magic. Once you’ve reached the late-game, be sure to complete Ebon Memories: The Power-Hungry so that Jed can become a Ninja. Though he’ll begin as a Duelist, Jed’s best early-game job is the Samurai, which leans more into his pure damage role instead of the Thief. A pure physical attacker through and through, Jed primarily serves as an extra damage dealer, with less utility than the other characters as a trade-off.
